The actuating slider of the installation switch is slidably mounted in the switch housing. The switch has an over-current protection element (9) with a tripping member (8), both secured to the switch housing. The tripping member is also longitudinally slidable and, together with the overcurrent protection element, mounted in a separate casing (12) so secured to the switch housing (10) that the tripping member intercepts the moving path of a stop (13) coupled to the switch slider (7). In normal position the stop permits free movement of the tripping member, while carrying it into its functional position during resetting of the switch slider into the OFF position. Preferably the casing of the overcurrent protection element can be secured in a housing recess (17).
