Hydrogen gas burning vehicle engine - has regulator controlling feed worm for metal powder and pump for water supply

The hydrogen gas burning engine for a heavy vehicle has a gas generator (1) into which water from a supply tank (11) and powdered aluminium from a supply vessel (16) are fed. The quantity is controlled by a foot pedal (2). The output is fed to an air mixer chamber (3) with an air supply control flap, before entry into the burner chamber (4). Instead of aluminium, powdered boron, silicon or their alloys may be used. The water supply is controlled by an immersion pump (7) which includes a system for varying its stroke. The powder supply is controlled by varying the speed of a feed worm (9). A pressure equaliser (23) can be incorporated in the water supply line (6).
