Working and equipment platforms in sludge settling ponds of sewage treatment plants, in crane bridges and crane girders and in gantry cranes can be moved along guides via travelling carriages with travelling rollers. Due to atmospheric influences in combination with low temperatures, the guides ice up and the travelling rollers of the travelling carriages slip as a result. In order to avoid this, nozzles (11) directed towards guides (5) are provided at the side of the travelling rollers (4), through which nozzles (11) hot air can be blown. <IMAGE>
