1523065 Dyeing and printing cellulose SHIKIBO Ltd 23 Feb 1976 [27 Feb 1975] 07073/76 Heading D1B Cellulose fibre is acylated with an aromatic acylating agent having an acyl group of formula: in which X 1 X 2 Y 1 Y 3 and Z are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, nitro, methoxy phenylazo and amino, the acylated cellulose having a degree of substitution (as defined) of 0.10 to 0.50 the cellulose is recovered and dyed with a disperse dye by conventional methods including a transfer printing process. Preferred acylating agents are benzoyl chloride, p-methoxybenzoyl chloride, p-chlorobenzoyl chloride, toluoyl chloride, p-nitrobenzoyl chloride and p-phenylazo benzoyl chloride. Acylation may be carried out (a) by treating in alkali followed by addition of an acid chloride, (b) by reaction with acylating agent in presence of a basic organic solvent, e.g. pyridinine, quinoline, dimethyl-aniline. The cellulose may be blended with polyester fibres level shades being obtained. Specification 1441203 is referred to.
|
