Prosthesis ball joint installation system - uses concave cutting tool and capping piece with holes for centering rod guidance

The method of installing a spherical cap (4) on part of a bone (1) is for making a ball joint forming part of a prosthesis. The surface of the bone is treated with a concave cutting tool (3) with the hole through the middle and a hollow stem (5). This enables it to be used with a polit. rod (2) passing through the bone for centering purposes. The tool is removed and the cap (4) which also has a centering hole (6) is positioned on the rod. This is afterwards removed. It outer end is smaller in diameter then the remainder of the rod.
