PURPOSE:To lighten the burden on a channel unit by enabling a register in a central processor to discriminate whether the 1st rough diagnostic mode or 2nd close diagnostic mode is required. CONSTITUTION:This system, equipped with CPU1, main memory unit 2 and channel unit 4, performs microprogram processes by unit 4 and associated data processes to CPU1 via bus 3. On this system, unit 4 causes an interruption to CPU1 in case of the diagnostic process of the system. In the interruption register of device 4, the 1st diagnostic mode causing the 1st interruption which corresponds to the rough diagnostic mode from CPU1 and the 2nd diagnostic mode causing an interruption to the diagnosis to the close diagnostic mode are prepared. Then, CPU1 is caused to select a data set register interruption unit 4 corresponding to the 1st or 2nd diagnostic modes. |
