EIV is Fe and/or Cr and/or Pb and/or Zn and/or Al or Si, EV alkali and/or alkaline earth metal, O is oxygen, X an acid residue e.g. halide, v-z=factors of 0, or a whole number which can be varied according to the required property of the corrosion inhibitor and sinter material, a - j = coeff. 1-5, depending on the valency of the other component.
