<p>Oil is recovered from crude oil residues from tankers, storage tanks in refineries, fractionating columns, etc. by mixing with mineral solvent, stirring and centrifuging the mixt. The remaining material, consisting of sand, mud and rust, contains virtually no oil and causes no pollution problems. Pref. ratio of crude oil residue: solvent is 1:0.1-100; the solvent is naphtha, light oil or kerosene; and the outer cylindrical body of the centrifuge is preheated to improve the sepn.</p> |
