METHOD OF PREPARING ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ANTIRHEUMATIC COMPOUNDS

Anti-inflammatory antirheumatic compounds having the formula: (A) wherein n1 and n2 are 2 or 3, are prepared by reacting 5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indolyl acetic acid with an N-hydroxyalkyl-N'-chloroalkyl-piperazine in an organic solvent in the presence of a condensation agent, to obtain the corresponding N'(2 or 3)-chloroalkyl-N-(2 or 3)-(5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indoleacetoxy)-alkyl-piperazine, amidating the N-atom in the indole group in the resulting compound by means of p-chloro-benzoyl chloride to obtain the corresponding N'-(2 or 3)chloroalkyl-N-(2 or 3)-¢1-(p-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-3-indoleacetoxy!-alkyl-piperazine and reacting the latter compound with N-benzoyl-N',N'-di-n-propyl-DL-isoglutamine in an organic solvent in the presence of a stoichiometric amount of sodium bicarbonate.
