<p>A support for metal filter cloth, particularly for water treatment filters, consisting of a reinforced synthetic resin frame containing steel bars encapsulated in resin for further reinforcement. The frame is pref. moulded from polyester resin reinforced with iron or carbon fibres. Steel bars are placed in the mould before moulding, and are arranged so that they provide max. resistance to flexion. The under frame may also be moulded and the filter cloth embedded in the moulding. The resinous frame provides chemical and mechanical resistance apart from flexure resistance which is increased by the steel bars.</p> |
