<p>The turntable of a powder metallurgical cutting tool blank manufacturing unit comprises a charging and compaction station, a working station for applying at least one profiling tool from below the table surface onto the endface of the compact, and an ejecting station with a hydraulic press to ensure shock free ejection from the mould into a receptacle. The above is used for the production of cermet cutting tools. The powder is fed into the die preferably in form of a prepressed pellet which is softened by heat to form a paste or mobile powder which is squeezed into the mould from the bottom.</p> |
