Arc welding using strip and wire electrodes

At least one strip electrode and one consumable wire electrode are fed to the welding head and melted off in a common weld bath. Specif. the wire electrode is consumed between two electrode strips. A welding flux is positioned in the space between the wire and strip electrodes which can have different chemical compsns. During welding the posn of the wore electrode can be varied along the strip width region. The equipment can be used for fusion- or building-up-welding.
