Spoked wheel for heavy loads - with metal sectors pressed with half spoke edges to weld into spokes with adjoining sectors

The heavy duty spoked wheel is braced by a number of metal segments (3) whose joining edges (4) are shaped into half spokes with butting edges. When the butting edges are welded together the spokes are completed. The outer ends of the butting edges have gaps (6) for added ventilation/cooling. The outer edges of the spokes are covered with special plates (7) which are welded in place. These provide welding faces for attaching the wheel rim. The wheel is simple to assemble and provides strength as well as good cooling for brake drums etc.
