PURPOSE:To eliminate any fear in applying irregularity by subjecting the surface of a continuously running elongated strip substrate, to which a liquid such as photographic emulsion is to be applied, prior to that applicaton. CONSTITUTION:A heating zone is provided in the way of a photographic substrate of elongated strip so that the surface to which a liquid is to be applied is subjected to a heat treatment at 50 to 150 (or preferably 80 to 120) deg.C for the mininum treating time 2 to 15 seconds. The disappearing rate of the charges from the surface of the substrate is acceletated as the temperature is raised. Then, a hydrophilic coloid layer is applied to the substrate. |
