Air valve for lorry tyre - has base fitting with extension pipe and auxiliary pipe screwing to extension

The air valve is designed for the wheels of lorries or heavy plant. It has a base fitting (10), an extension pipe (16) and an auxiliary pipe (24) which screws onto the free end of the extension (16). The base (10) fixes to the inner tube to receive the extension (16). A demountable sealed connection (14, 17, 18, 20) is provided between the extension (16) and the base (10), and the former houses a prim. valve-shell. The auxiliary pipe (24) houses a sec. valve-shell and a mechanism for operating the prim. valve. The foot of the auxiliary (24) extends in a skirt (28) which contacts a sealing ring (22) on the head of the extension (16).
