The label applicator applies adhesive labels fed on a carrier strip drawn by a take-off reel about a deflector when the label is freed from the strip. Above the label outlet is an application device, e.g. an elastic roller. A hollow handle (6) which inclines upwards and forwards is rigidly connected with the housing. A spring-loaded draw-off handle can be engaged in the hollow handle to operate the draw-off device. The top end of the handle (6) has a pivot shaft and a hand-supporting projection (17). The latter (17) is arranged vertically above the pivot point of the implement.
