An isoparaffin was alkylated with both a lighter olefin and a heavier olefin. the iso-paraffin was contacted with the lighter olefin and a 1st alkylation catalyst in a 1st alkylation zone, and then 1st hydrocarbon effluent was contacted with heavier olefin and a 2nd alkylation catalyst in a 2nd alkylation zone. The alkylation product was recovered from and hydrocarbon effluent.
