In a gas generator plant for the gasification of refuse or digested sewage sludge the water-soluble organic compounds together with the condensate are recycled to the gas generator. This fluid circuit which includes a heat exchanger has upstream and/or downstream pressure control devices for the water. Arrangement prevents the deposition of dissolved particles which cause clogging and loss of efficiency in heat transfer.
