Printer has a sealed first tank (19) open at its bottom to the bottom of a second tank (33) itself open at the top. Ink in the second tank rises to the level of the connection to the first tank, the level in the first tank being the higher. A wick (26) lying in the two tanks, or at least in the second tank, extends to a point above the level in the second tank and into contact with an inking roller (13). Latter transfers the ink to a printing roller.
