The rotary motor or pump has a block or housing forming a reference frame, relatively to which all other parts move. The block (10) is divided into two cylindrical parts (12, 14) and flat end closures (16, 18). It has a cylindrical bore containing the rotating parts, and a drive shaft (28) is fitted in bearings (24, 26) in the end closures (16, 18). Working chambers are defined by the walls of the cylindrical bore, the shaft and two similar but counterposed wall sub-assembles comprising an edge wall and a pair of movable walls. The rim walls (29, 30) are rotatable relatively to the drive shaft (28).
