<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a cake whose water content is suitable for reduction pelletizing, by classifying a slurry of steel dust with a liquid cyclone, followed by forced dehydration with a dehydrater fitted to each grain size. CONSTITUTION:A slurry of steel dust recovered with a wet dust collector, e.g. blast furnace dust is classified into a coarse grain slurry and a fine grain slurry with a liquid cyclone setting the classification point to a grain size of 20-100mu. The The coarse grain slurry hardly clogs a filter cloth, so it is dehydrated to a water contnet of 12-14% with a vacuum dehydrater. The fine grain slurry is preconcentrated and dehydrated under pressure up to 16-19% with a high pressure press, the passage of which is not clogged. The water content of a mixt. of the resulting cakes becomes about 14-16% and it is sufficiently suitable for reduction pelletizing. Accordingly, pelletized raw material reusable as iron manufacturing raw material can be recovered from waste gas dust in a high yield.</p> |
