PURPOSE:To facilitate the calibration of a system including a pre-amplifier, cable and measuring instrument, by locating a calibration signal generator circuit and selector switch circuit in the vicinity of a detector and providing a drive circuit to deliver an external command signal in the measuring part. CONSTITUTION:A radiation detector 1 and a pre-amplifier 2 installed in the field are remote from a central control room 3. Unless a calibration drive circuit 9 is operated, a system consisting of radiation detector 1, pre-amplifier 4 and measuring instrument 8 is established when normally closed switch 11 of a selector switch circuit 6 is turned on. When the calibration drive circuit 9 is operated, a calibration signal generator circuit 5 will generate a calibration signal, and, at the same time, a relay 15 of the selector swith circuit 6 will be actuated to turn off the normally closed switch 11 and turn on a normally open switch 12. In consequence, a calibration system consisting of calibration signal generator circuit 5, pre-amplifier 4 and measuring instrument 8 will be established. Therefore, the measuring system including the pre-amplifier 4 and cable 13 may be calibrated.
