PURPOSE:To enable the material to withstand long term use, maintain always stable bleaching ability and readily and efficiently perform regeneration after processing by processing the same with a solution containing specific 5-ring heterocyclic compound immediate before bleaching processing. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic material which has undergone imagewise exposure is color-developed, after which it is processed in prebath solution like a short stop added with the heterocyclic compound of formulas I thru III [R1 is H, halogen, amino, (substituted) alkyl of C1-5; R2 is H, amino, (substituted) alkyl of C1-5]. Next, the photosensitive material is bleach-processed with a bleaching liquid containing aminopolycarboxylic acid metal complex and halogen ions, after which it is immediately fixed. These obviate environmental pollution, accelerate the rate of bleaching and enable the superior color photographic image free from the occurrence of magenta stains owing to bleach fogs to be obtained and further obviate the occurrence of recoloring defects. |
