发明名称 DRIVING METHOD FOR MATRIX DISPLAY
摘要 PURPOSE:To make the display easy to see with the luminescence made brighter after scanning, by applying a maintenance pulse to rows (columns) while shifting rows according to the scanning time of one element of a matrix, and write pulses which synchronize the maintenance pulse to columns (rows) in a display driver cricuti. CONSTITUTION:By the driving method for a matrix display which has EL luminous elements making EL luminescence arranged in a matrix and has a memory function given by hysteresis characteristics between the luminous brightness and applied voltage, a maintenance pulse with a luminescence maintaining component is applied one-side electrode while rows (columns) are shifted in sequence. Further, either electrode arrayed on the selected luminous element selected from luminous points corresponding to writing is applied with a write pulse of opposite polarity as the maintenance pulse while columns are shifted in sequence synchronizing with the maintenance pulse, and the write voltage component of the maintenance pulse and write pulse superposed together is supplied to the selected luminous element, therby obtaining the 1st state. After this state, the luminescence of the selected luminous element is inverted by the maintenance pulse to obtain the 2nd state.
