1347918 Conveyer apparatus P A TOOLING & ENG PTY Ltd 7 June 1971 [16 June 1970 7 Sept 1970] 19158/71 Headings B8A and B8E [Also in Division F4] A conveyer apparatus comprises an ascending conveyer and a descending conveyer, each conveyer comprising a pair of opposed conveyer elements driven in a common direction and in synchronism, each having a forward leg and a return leg and support members adapted to convey an article along the forward leg. The apparatus may be used in, e.g. sheet drying apparatus (Fig. 1, not shown) or a vehicle parking station (Fig. 5, not shown). In the Figure, sheet drying apparatus comprises an ascending conveyer 12 and a descending conveyer 13, each comprising a pair of chain assemblies 14a, 14b, which in turn comprise a pair of conveyer chains 19a, 19b, connected by angle strips 20, which in combination with the angle strips of the opposed chain assembly, form supports for trays 21. Plunger mechanism 25 transfers trays 21 to conveyer 13 at the top of the forward leg of conveyer 12, while a similar plunger mechanism (26, not shown) transfers the trays to conveyer 12 at the bottom of the forward leg of conveyer 13. The apparatus when used as a vehicle parking station (Figs. 5-7, not shown) operates similarly, the vehicles being driven up a ramp (62) on to a platform (59) supported by support elements (57) and rollers (58) which is conveyed up ascending conveyer (50) and down descending conveyer (51), transfer at top and bottom being effected by fluidoperated rams (60, 61). |
