<p>A tool for inserting insulated conductors into insulation piercing contacts of an electrical connector unit, the tool having conducting cutting means to cut the conductor at a predetermined location. The tool has an insertion blade with a cutting edge for pressing a conductor into a contact. A cutting member is mounted on the tool for relative movement to the blade. The cutting member has a second cutting edge and a portion which engages the connecting unit. The conductor is severed by the first and second cutting edges when the engaging portion engages the connecting unit.</p> |
