NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula and a salt thereof. USE:An immune-enhancing agent, antitumor immune-enhancing agent. PREPARATION:A leuhistin-producing bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus, e.g., BMI 156-14F strain (FERM P-10193) is cultured and the leuhistin is collected from the culture product. The leuhistin has the following physicochemical properties. Color and shape: white powder; mol. wt.: 241 SI-MSm/z; melting point: 178-180 deg.C; specific rotation: [alpha] -32.0 deg. (c1. methanol); coloring reaction: positive to ninhydrin reagent and Paul's reagent on a silica gel thin layer; solubility: soluble in water, methanol and dimethyl sulfoxide and insoluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform and hexane; etc. |
