<p>PURPOSE:To improve product yield, by inhibiting the formation of fish tail by grasping the change of the shapes of the end portions of each steel ingot in blooming rolling and by reflecting the change to rolling schedule. CONSTITUTION:A bottom of steel ingot 1 discharged from a soaking pit is detected by means of a position sensor 7, an a shutter of a camera 4 is released. The whole surface of a photographed picture is scanned by operating a memory storage 6, and the picure is memorized. The memorized content is put out to a shape recognition device 7, and the shape elements of the maximum width, well-end width and well height of the bottom of steel ingot are measured. the value is put out to a pass schedule set device 8, and the best rolling reduction pattern and rolling pass schedule are calculated in response to the form of a bottom portion. The value is transmitted to a rolling reduction set device 9, the rolling reduction quantities of a horizontal mill 2 and a vertical mill 3 are modified every time and the steel ingot is rolled up to final pass.</p> |
