PURPOSE:To rationally economize fuel for a soaking pit, by setting temp in the soaking pit corresponding to steel ingots by beforehand measuring recuperation quantities in case of soaking about the samples of steel ingots, which thickness, weight and track time differ, when soaking the steel ingots and by referring to the quantities. CONSTITUTION:The original unit of the fuel of a soaking pit is reduced by utilizing recuperation based on the presence of non-coagulated portions when soaking steel ingots, which track time is short, as steel ingots -particularly, rimmed steel and semi-killed steel. In this case, the samples of the steel ingots are beforehand classified every thickness and wt. and by difference by the time of track time, and recuperation quantites by the raties of non-coagulated portions at the insides of the steel ingots are previously grasped by experiments and theoretical calculation about each ingot. When the actual soaking treatment of the steel ingots, the quantity of fuel used in a soaking process is greatly reduced by deciding set temp in the soaking pit at low values from data of interest. |
