1394798 Anchors R V D HAAK 3 April 1973 [10 April 1972] 15979/73 Heading B7S An anchor comprises flukes 1, 2, a shank 6 hinged to hollow flukes, head plates 11, 12 located on opposite sides of the hinge axis and stabilizing arms 15, 16 projecting transversely from either side of the flukes. The surfaces of the flukes converge along flowing lines from their centre towards their sharp front, side and rear edges. The hinge axis of the shank passes through the geometric centre of the fluke surfaces. In the embodiment shown, the flukes are joined behind the hinge axis of the shank to form a common fluke surface. |
