<p>The bolted connection fixes a round hollow section rail (11) to a support bracket (2). The connection uses a bolt (14) with an asymmetric head (15) which enters a slot (12) on the underside of the rail. The detail is suitable for medium duty monorails (11) e.g. conveying carcasses in an abattoir. The slot (12) is located by a vertical dia. of the rail (11) and the primary radial dimension of the head (15) is significantly greater than the width of the slot (12). The secondary radial dimension of the head (15), i.e. normal to the primary equals the dia. of the bolt (14). The width of the slot (12) is nominally greater than the bolt dia. and the head (15) is, thus, positioned by insertion followed by a quarter turn leaving the shaft (16) projecting. The head (15) and the bearing seat (2) may follow the rail (11) profile obtg. uniform clamping stresses.</p> |
