PURPOSE:To remove dust adhered to a fixed bed catalyst layer effectively during operation without enlarging the exhaust gas flow, by equipping a reactor body at the upstream side of the catalyst layer with plural exhaust gas paths, and by circulating optionally the exhaust gas at downstream side of the catalyst layer to each of the exhaust gas paths. CONSTITUTION:When a catalyst layer 7 is blocked during operation, the exhaust gas in the downstream side of the catalyst layer 7 is drawn off through a duct 13 by use of a circulating fan 6 and is returned to each of the gas paths 9 so as to blow the gas into the catalyst layer 7. In that case, dampers 12 of the exhaust gas paths 9 are opened or closed optionally, and the dampers 8 of a duct 14 are opened or closed so that the exhaust gas is blown into only the gas path 9 whose damper 12 is closed. Successive repeat of this operation allows the exhaust gas to blow into whole surface of the catalyst layer 7. Thus constant amount of the exhaust gas is discharged through the catalyst layer 7, then through an air preheater and a dust collector. |
