1311438 Lincomycin derivatives UPJOHN CO 19 April 1971 [6 April 1970] 25534/71 Heading C2C Compounds of the Formula (I) and their N and/or O acyl derivatives (where R is H or hydrocarbon opt. substd. by OH, O alkyl or halogen) are prepared by solvolysis of a compound of the Formula (IV) (where Ac is carboxyacyl and Ac 1 is H or acyl) with ROH and hydrazinolysis of the product when Ac and Ac 1 are acyl to give H or acylation of a compound where Ac and/or Ac 1 is H to give the acyl derivative. Compounds of the Formula (IV) above are prepared by acylation of a compound (II) Compounds of the Formula (XXXIX) (where Me is 1-4C-alkyl) are prepared in addition to compounds (XIV) when (IV, Ac = Ac 1 = acetyl) is subjected to solvolysis with EtOH in the presence of acetic acid. Pharmaceutical compositions containing compounds (I), (II) (IV) and (XXXIX) are antibacterials. |
