Spectacle hinge play take=up adjuster - uses injection moulded plastics ring insert in form of short cylinder with end shoulders

The adjustment is for play in the hinges of spectacles. The adjustment allows rationalisation of the manufacture and assembly of the hinges. The play is taken up by a plastics ring (10) within the drilled and tapped incut (6) of the securing screw (8). The ring in the form of a short cylinder with end shoulders, is inkection moulded of a comparatively rigid material not easily deformed. The shoulders trapping the ring in position may be right angles or may form an acute angle with the cylinder length.
