The beer dispensing system is automatically rinsed with clean water and comprises two solenoid valves, one controlling a supply of carbon dioxide gas. The other controls a supply of water which can be directed into the beer dispensing pipe. A conductive sensor is fitted into the beer dispensing pipe, at its connection into the cask, and the sensor operates the valves. The water supply is connected into the beer pipe on the downstream side. A control cabinet enables the sensor to be temporarily disconnected. This action causes the valves to open and close in sequence and operate the rinsing cycle.
