<p>X-ray apparatus has a table (2) that can be tilted about a transverse axis (4). On the table (2) a patient support surface (5) is axially movable so that it can project by at least half its length. A support (14) is located near the table and has a height similar to that of stretcher trollies used to transport patients to the apparatus. To assist in transferring patients from a trolley to the surface (5), the latter is moved until its free end projects over the support (14) and the table (2) is then tilted so that the surface (5) rests on the support, the other end of the table being pivotally mounted to the table (2).</p> |
