The sheet-like structure has, in contrast to known structures of this type, not just one, but at least two vapour-deposited metal layers (4, 5; 10, 11) arranged on both sides of a load-bearing member (3), the outer metal layers (10, 11) being additionally protected towards the outside by corresponding protection layers (13, 14). In this manner it is achieved that, in the region of glazed window or door surfaces, the heat is not radiated out of the heated room in cold weather conditions, and, in warm weather conditions on the other hand, the room can be protected, by means of the sheet-like structure, from heat supply. Applying the two outer metal layers (10, 11) is essential for the reduction in the heat transition coefficient (K). By applying the two inner layers (4, 5), favourable effects are achieved, in addition, in that scratching of the outer layers is not visible. <IMAGE>
