A cut-out device providing explosion protection for a capacitor with a metal casing 2 comprises an intermediate member 4 located above the plates 1 within the casing, which is closed by a cover 13 carrying terminals 11, 12 electrically connected to the plates 1 and is axially deformable in a region 3 between the intermediate member and the cover by the action of internal pressure. The intermediate member 4 has a peripheral annular portion, from which two resilient appendices 5, 6 project towards the center and carry conductors, which rest resiliently against the inner ends 14, 15 of the terminals 11, 12 when the casing is undeformed and are separated therefrom when the casing is deformed. <IMAGE> |
