Mfr. by winding of fibre-reinforced, plastics, mouldings comprises winding the fibres onto a mandrel, performing a reciprocating motion along the mandrel. The latter is provided with evenly spaced pins at both ends, the fibres being looped about at least one pin at the end of each pass and the returned to at least one pin at the other end of the mandrel. Used e.g. as fibre-reinforced plastics tubing, resistant to axial tensile and compressive stresses. The prods. are of homogeneous and even structure since the reinforcing fibres of any one lamina do not intersect in the middle section of the moulding.
