Water extraction - from zinc ore leach residues by centrifuging after addn of flocculating agent

Extraction of water from opt. concd. Zn ore leaching plant residues takes place after addition of flocculating agents, pref. synthetic "Praestol 2900" (RTM), in ore or several consecutively linked solid jacket centrifuges with continuous screw conveyor discharge. Pref. water is added to residues before centrifugeing, to reduce ZnSO4 content in centrifuge residue. Residues can be dehyrated to 20% of their water content, and energy consumption of smoothly running centrifuge is only 30% of previously used suction drum filters.
