2-benzimidazolyl carbamates - as paint fungicides

2-Benzimidazolylcarbamic acid esters of formula (I): (where R1 is a 1-4C aliphatic residue and R2 is H, halogen or NO2), are used as additives in paint materials to protect against fungal attack, being very suitable for this purpose because of their insolubility, low vapour pressure, low toxicity to warm-blooded animals and high antifungal activity.
