The pressurised fluid actuated friction clutch is used for a press. Increase of the pressure to a maximum value is delayed during the closing process of the moving clutch half. The delay is applied in response to the speed of the output shaft. It is connected with the output shaft by means of a centrifugal force regulator acting as switching element for delay mechanism. The delay, in the form of a restrictor valve, is connected to a piston and cylinder unit.
