RADAR APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES

PURPOSE:To provide a radar apparatus which enalbes detection at a greager distance than the conventional type on a curved travelling cource with a radar antenna so arranged to move in a widthwise direction of the vehicle while rotating in a bearing according to the condition of the course. CONSTITUTION:As a rail vehicle 10 is passing by a position separated by a given distance from the starting point of the curve along the curved rail, an advance rail information is detected with a marker detector based on a marker indicating the condition of the rail ahead arranged at the point, and immediately fed to a radar antenna controller 8. The controller 8 computes a speed information of the vehicle from a speed detector 7 and the rail information based on the preset procedure and outputs a antenna driving signal to a drive section. The drive section 3 moves along a guide 4 while rotates around a shaft 5. When the vehicle turns to the right, the antenna is moved to the left while directed to antenna azimuth of theta.
