A Method for the production of a fibrous mat (29) which comprises mixing artificial mineral fibres (11) and cellulosic fibres (12) preparing an aqueous suspension therefrom, dewatering said suspension on a wire, pressing and drying the formed sheet, and adding kinding agents in the form of a latex emulsion after the sheet has been dried (39) to a dry content of between 60 and 90%.
