NEW MATERIAL:Crotonylcyclohexenone compounds of formula IR is H or methyl; Z is=O or 4, 4-ethylenedioxy) and cyclohexenyl-beta-ketols of formula II (Z' is 4, 4-ethylenedioxy). EXAMPLE:1-Crotonyl-6,6-dimethyl-1-cyclohexene-4-one and 1-(3'-hydroxybutyloyl- 1')-6,6-dimethyl-4,4-ethylenedioxy-1-cyclohexene. USE:Lasting odorants or modifiers and their intermediates. Used for luxuries, cosmetics, hygienic medicines, etc. PROCESS:The compounds of formula II are obtained by the aldol condensation of the compounds of formula III. The objective compounds of formula I-1 (Z'' is =O) and formula I-2x are prepared by the dehydratin or the hydrolysis depending upon the Rind of the Z group. |
