PURPOSE:To obtain the parent material composed of two components having refractive index differences through one reaction operation by depositing the raw material gases for core and clad having been heated through respective paths on a rotating substrate while letting them cause oxidation reaction. CONSTITUTION:A protection heating tube 20 is provided on the outer side of a reaction sample tube 12, the inside of which is divided to two paths 16, 18 by a spacer 14, to constitute a glass fine power producer 10. The lower end thereof is inserted into the chamber 26 built in with a rotatable and elevatable disc form substrate 28. And, raw material gas for core, raw material gas for clad and O2 gas are fed into the paths 16, 18, 22 and are heated up to a sufficiently reactable temperature in a heating furnace 24, after which the direct oxidation reaction of the raw material gases and O2 gas is caused in the place where they leave the end of the glass fine power producer 10, whereby the currents of the glass fine powders 30, 32 for core and clad are produced and are deposited on the substrate 28. Thereby, the optical fiber parent material of high purity may be obtained through one reaction operation. |
