Novel 1,3-dihydro-imidazo-(4,5-b)-pyridin-2-ones of the formula <IMAGE> I wherein R is alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms and R' is pyridyl and Y is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and chlorine and their non-toxic, pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts having gastric anti-secretic and anti-ulcerogenic and anorexigenic activity and a novel process and novel intermediates for their preparation.
