PURPOSE:To provide a distributer which can reduce radio noise and be adapted for mass production with simple structure by employing material having less than 3.0eV of work function at least at one discharging unit of the rotary and stationary electrodes thereof for an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:This distributor is mounted at an internal combustion engine via a housing 1 thereof and a contact breaker cam shaft 2 thereof, which shaft 2 is interlocked with the crankshaft of the engine, and has an insulator 4 secured to the top of the shaft 2, a rotary electrode 3 mounted onto the insulator 4, a carbon rod 9 mounted in contact with the electrode 3 at the rotating center of the electrode 3, a distributor cap 5 provided with a central terminal 7 and a plurality of igni tion plug terminals 11 to be coated on the top of the housing 1, a compression spring 8 for electrically connecting the terminal 7 to the rod 9, and a stationary electrode 6 connected to the bottom of the terminals 11.
