Partially perforated plates are laid end to end and side by side in pairs, between the side members joined by tubular cross beams, of the main frame. Each plate is approx. half the width of the frme to whose sides they are fixed by e.g. resilient clamps. A set of axial-clamps along the top centre holds each pair of plates down against the cross beam. These const. of short bars retained by spring loaded turns buckles passing into elongated holes in the top walls of the beams. Reliable, simple method, with clamps not subjected to heat damage for prevention of clogging of reducer gas glow by small particles of iron are for smelting.
|
