MANUFACTURE OF COLORED CORE DECORATIVE LAMINATE

PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled decorative laminate having improved color, strength, and flow properties, by laminating an overlay prepreg on a core prepreg obtained by impregnating a sheet of white paper with a specific phenobic resin. CONSTITUTION:One mole of phenol is reacted with 1.3-2.0mol of formaldehyde, 0.1-1.0mol of dicyandiamide or methylol melamine, and 0.001-0.003mol of sodium hydroxide at a temperature of 80 deg.C to reflux one to give a yellow phenolic resin. A sheet of white paper is impregnated with the phenolic resin thus obtained and hot dried to form a core prepreg, on which a pattern prepreg is placed, hot-pressed by the conventional method and laminated. EFFECT:Decorative laminate having yellow cores can be obtained. USE: Materials for construction and furniture.
